In April 2000, after studying the Columbine massacre, the murder of an innocent man by over hyped up police officers, and related events,  the Schiller Institute joined with other civic leaders and law enforcement experts to  form a new Commission against  this “New Violence” (link to memo). Educational conferences were held in April and June, and an organizing drive to defeat this assault on the youth generation was begun.

Mr. LaRouche employed the term "New Violence” to signify chiefly the introduction of new methods, those of Nintendo games and related means, to transform young children and adolescents, as well as law-enforcement personnel, into "Samurai"-style programmed killers. To aid in conceptualizing the common characteristics of this "New Violence," he pointed to the utopian programs, such as H.G. Wells' The Open Conspiracy, Wells-Russell proteagé Aldous Huxley's utopian "New Age" models, the 1931 and 1951 models set forth by Bertrand Russell, and Clockwork Orange, as points of intellectual reference. What is specifically new, is the adaptation of the mythos of the Samurai warrior, and related "martial arts" mythology, combined with lunatic legacies such as "Dungeons and Dragons" and Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, to the childish mad-killer pornography of cinematic cartoons and Nintendo-style games.

On November 28, 2007, the German Society of Psychotherapists (GwG) called for total ban against violent computer games, in a statement issued from Cologne.  They say that "killer games are landmines for the soul of young people," noting that the games give players bonus points for each person they kill.

The "image of man" created in this way in the minds of young people, is inhuman, and must therefore be banned by law.  (Note, by the way, that this word, "the image of man," das Menschenbild, so reminiscent of Friedrich Schiller, is rarely heard today outside of church services.)

The politicians must act, the society demanded, "before an entire generation of children and youth are pulled into a whirl of violence.... Computer killer games are inhuman," they say," and therefore violate the constitution."

This psychotherapists' association is the biggest in Europe. Their intervention yesterday was clearly related to a lively intervention on this and related questions by the LaRouche Youth Movement, into a German psychotherapists' conference earlier this week in Berlin.

Beginning with the Virginia Tech shootings in April 2007, the LaRouche Youth Movement (LYM) has taken direct responsibility to expose the obvious but often denied reality that violent video games are a major influence in the recent wave of shootings, going back to Columbine.

In November 2007, the LYM prepared a more complete picture of who is behind this deliberate assault on the cognitive potential of the younger generation. This devastating report exposes the British intelligence "cultural engineers,", the social networking  website gurus Bill Gates and Rupert Murdoch, the Dick Cheney connected "Revolution in Military Affairs policy makers, along with INSA and Wikipedia.

"The Mark of the Beast"

VIDEO-GAME VIOLENCE TURNS CHILDREN INTO KILLERS

Imagine a 14-year old boy who had never shot a gun before, shot eight classmates with eight bullets, Police were stunned. How could he do it?

The boy was trained, by his addiction to video-game violence. From “Pokémon” to “Doom,” America's children are being turned into monsters, who kill -- for the fun of it.

Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche, in her President's Day 2000 Schiller Institute Conference address titled "The Mark of the Beast", exposes the evil which is hitting everybody's hometown, and to which most parents remain oblivious. She traces the decline of American culture since World War II, and links the insane strategic and economic policies of the financier oligarchy and its war planners, to the mass brainwashing of youth by video and TV violence.

National Commission Formed
To STOP the “NEW VIOLENCE”

On April 8, 2000,  a town meeting was held in the Teachers College auditorium of Columbia University, in New York City, to organize a Commission to investigate the causes of the “New Violence,” an initiative proposed by Lyndon LaRouche in the aftermath of the March, 2000 “not guilty” verdict in the trial of four New York policemen who, on Feb 4, 1999, shot the unarmed, and unresisting, West African immigrant Amadou Diallo.  Satellite hook up meetings were held in Los Angeles, Detroit, Washington, DC and other cities, and the proceedings were carried live on the internet.

The meeting, which was keynoted by Lyndon H. LaRouche,  was moderated by Dennis Speed, the Northeast coordinator of the Schiller Institute. The panel of speakers included Jeffrey Steinberg, co author of “Dope Inc” , and editor of Executive Intelligence Review, Minister Charles Quinn Muhammad, former head of NOI (Nation Of Islam) in Jackson, Mississippi, Sister Esther Muhammad, former head of the NAACP in Mississippi,  Dr. Kildare Clark, assistant medical  director of Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn;  Matthew Fogg, chief inspector deputy, US Marshall, and founder of the Congress Against Racism and Corruption in Law Enforcement; and also Pennsylvania State Rep. Harold James, former head of the state's Legislative Black Caucus.

The National Commission Against the New Violence was formed at an all-day meeting on May 20, 2000,at Columbia University in New York City. The keynote speaker, Lyndon LaRouche, was joined by a panel including  Lt. Col. David Grossman, well known teacher and lecturer, and author of the books “Stop Teaching Our Kids to Kill:  a Call To Action Against TV, Movie and Video Game Violence” and “On Killing: The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill In War and Society” ; Pa. State Representative Harold  James, himself a 22 year veteran of the Philadelpha police force; Minister Charles Quinn Muhammad and Sister Esther Muhammad, of Jackson; Mississippi,  Matthew Fogg, Dr. Kildare Clark, and Jeffrey  Steinberg.

After the Commission was formed, another meeting was called  in the nation's capitol, on June 3, 2000,  and keynoted by Helga Zepp LaRouche, founder and Chairwoman of the International Schiller Institute.  In addition to some of the Commission's initiators, speeches were presented by Michele Steinberg, of Executive Intelligence Review (EIR) and former editor of War On Drugs magazine, and Dr. Alim Muhammad, spokesman for the Nation of Islam (NOI) , and  director of the Abundant Life Clinic in Washington D.C. )

The Commission Against the New violence promises to become a very  formidable weapon in the battle against the New Age “technetronic violence” is becoming more commonplace in America, and throughout the world, largely through the influence of violent movies and video games .

STOP the NEW VIOLENCE

Policy Memorandum

April 26, 2000

What is the Schiller Institute?
Who is Lyndon LaRouche?
Other conferences

1. The term "New Violence," as employed by LBW, signifies, chiefly, the introduction of new methods, those of Nintendo games and related means, to transform young children and adolescents, as well as law-enforcement personnel, into "Samurai"-style programmed killers. The term "New Violence" will be used in LBW proceedings solely to identify forms of violence which feature this distinctly new element. Old forms of violence will be included in this classification only when the role of Nintendo-style games and related means is a characteristic feature of the problem being considered in the study and report.

E.g., the classification of "New Violence," as distinct from new revivals of old forms of violence, will be included, only in such cases as the revival of old-style lynching conducted by law-enforcement agents, that only insofar as it is congruent with the pattern typified by the activities of Mayor Rudolph Giuliani's special teams of "Nintendo Cops" in New York City.

By "New Violence," we emphasize the Littleton-Columbine model, in which Nintendo-style games and related methods and means was a crucial, distinguishing feature. We include the use of related methods and objectives in the training and deployment of law-enforcement agents, or analogous instances. We must do this to avoid ruining the results of the investigation by fallacy of composition.

2. The standpoint of comparison used to aid in conceptualizing the common characteristics of this "New Violence," is the utopian programs, such as H.G. The use of this method and its derivatives, for the purpose of programmed conditioning of military, law enforcement teams, and for indoctrinating children in a programmed impulse for terrorist forms of violence, is adequately understood only when such Nintendo-game-style conditioning is situated within the utopian doctrine of Russell's relevant 1931 and 1951 writings on the required methods of population control to realize his own and H.G. Wells' oligarchical utopian ends.

3. A crucial feature of a clean inquiry, is to recognize the fraud implicit (or actually intended) in the use of any hysterical "gun-law reform" diversionary effort, to cover up for the crucial role of the popular mass-media, and firms such as Hasbro, in mass brainwashing of children to become, even as young children, programmed agents of blind-terrorist modes of mass-murder by means which do not depend in any characteristic fashion on firearms.

4. A most important feature of the inquiry, is to recognize the lessons to be learned from the role of "bread and circuses" in manipulating the population of ancient Rome into the pathological state of mind aimed at by the design of Nintendo-style games and related "New Age" tactics today.
