Dear Friend,

It is now officially announced that Presidents Xi and Trump will meet in a few days, April 6-7, 2017. Earlier this month, while in Beijing for meetings with President Xi and Foreign Minister Wang, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said, "The U.S. side is ready to develop relations with China based on the principle of no conflict, no confrontation, mutual respect and win-win cooperation."

When in 1996, Helga Zepp-LaRouche widely proposed, in great detail, a "New Silk Road" initiative -- connecting East and West -- few imagined that it would become reality. The Schiller Institute has since held hundreds of Conferences worldwide on the "New Silk Road." Recently, UN General Assembly President Peter Thomson, in an interview with Xinhua news service, said that Chinese President Xi Jinping's vision "is the only future for humanity on this planet."

Further, the horizon goals which President Trump had set out for America's "250th Anniversary" in 2026 -- peace with nations including America's "current adversaries," a renewed economic infrastructure, "our footsteps on distant worlds" -- are finding an increasing international openness.

Schiller Institute founder and chairwoman, Helga Zepp-LaRouche, speaking to a Schiller Institute conference in NYC on February 4, 2017, said,

"... This is what we have to accomplish today. We need a New Paradigm; and that New Paradigm must be as different from the present paradigm of 'globalization' as modern times was different from the Middle Ages in Europe... When we do this now, we can reach the adulthood of mankind. Wars will be a question of the past; we will no longer use violence to resolve conflicts, but we will concentrate on the common aims of mankind, of space exploration, of reaching energy and raw materials security through the mastering of fusion technology, and similar things. If we are guided by such a beautiful vision of the future, we indeed will be able to make a new set of relations among nations. ...And I think if we can convince the United States with the Trump administration to cooperate with China on the New Silk Road, I am safe on the prediction that Mr. Trump will not be only a great American President, but if he can mobilize his country to join hands with China right now, he will go into history as one of the towering giants of universal history."

The new Trump Administration has indeed already acted to lower the threshold of world conflict by its expression of an intent to constructively engage the nations of Russia and China.  America and the world can, in the next few weeks, walk away from the dead end of geopolitics forever, through a "win-win" policy.

To discuss that policy's content and method, the Schiller Institute and the China Energy Fund Committee have proposed an assembly of scholars, diplomats, organizational representatives, students, business people and interested private citizens to exchange in a "dialogue of civilizations", to discuss how such a win-win policy might become clearer, and better known.   Please join us Thursday, April 13, and Friday, April 14, and come prepared to participate in what is arguably the most important discussion of our lifetime.

You may register by clicking the "Pre-Register" box, in this email. If you have any questions, or intend to bring a large delegation, please do not hesitate to call us at 201-562-9890.
